K&A’s international engineering and power services are based on a simple principle: using the same engineers, standards, and quality that define K&A, but with a cost structure suited to complex,budget-sensitive projects. All international deliverables are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards and are reviewed by US-based experts before delivery, guaranteeing that every international output meets the same quality benchmarks.

K&A broadened its horizons by extending its services to Kathmandu, Nepal in 2019. Our expansion into engineering consultancy in Nepal allows us to offer our clients the advantage of cost savings and fast turnaround times without sacrificing quality. The team in Nepal provides third-party support to several major utilities in the Northeast, helping clients cut costs. Furthermore, the time difference between the US and Nepal enables a 24/7 work environment, enhancing efficiency and ensuring projects are completed in half the time.
In Nepal, the team receives the same training and development opportunities as K&A's US employees, and every deliverable undergoes strict quality control by K&A's US-based subject matter experts to ensure clients receive top-notch results.

K&A’s India office extends our global engineering services capability into one of the world’s fastest-growing power markets. Our India team delivers engineering services across power systems, substation, transmission, and distribution disciplines, operating to K&A’s established quality standards with US-based technical oversight on all deliverables.

Every deliverable produced by K&A’s international teams in Nepal and India goes through the same internal review process as work produced in the US - reviewed by US-based subject matter experts before it reaches the client. K&A’s international engineers are trained to the same standards, use the same tools, and work within the same project management frameworks as the US team. The international offices are an extension of the same K&A team.
K&A’s international offices support the full range of K&A engineering work - substation engineering, transmission line design, distribution engineering, power system studies, and DER interconnection studies. The Nepal and India teams have directly supported Northeast US utilities with power system studies, engineering design, and technical analysis, delivering up to 30% cost savings compared to equivalent onshore resourcing.
Our international delivery model is selective. Some clients have confidentiality or contractual requirements that limit offshore involvement - K&A respects those boundaries and will confirm suitability at the project scoping stage. For clients where international support is appropriate, K&A manages the engagement entirely: there is no separate vendor relationship or handoff. The client’s point of contact remains their US-based K&A project lead throughout.
K&A’s Nepal office operates approximately 9-10 hours ahead of the US East Coast. Engineering work assigned at the end of a US business day can be completed and ready for review by the start of the next US morning - effectively extending the productive working day for time-sensitive utility projects. This model has been used successfully on power system studies, design packages, and technical analysis work for utility clients in the Northeast.
